| KEY STOCK Standard Key stock is metal that is formed, forged, or machined to make a key. It usually comes in square or rectangular bars; depending on the fit you require, key stock comes in slightly oversized or undersized deviations. |
Metric Conforms to international metric specification and accommodates metric keyways. Step (Offset) Precision milled with steps notched in at regular intervals for repairing sprockets, gears, and pulleys. |
KEYS A key is a small metal block or wedge inserted between a shaft and the hub of a pulley, gear, sprocket, or other rotating power device. The key provides driving torque and prevents movement. One part of the key fits into a precut slot in the shaft called a key seat. The remainder slides into a groove in the hub called a keyway. |
Machine Elongated keys feature rounded ends, square ends, or tapered gib heads. Woodruff Flat, semicircular keys that rock into place and adjust to an angular spine without coming unseated. |
